Terms of service

Last updated September 2026.

These terms govern your use of the Quant Labs website and, once you sign Form 50-162, your engagement of us as your property tax agent. By running an estimate or signing an authorization, you agree to them.

What the estimate is

The savings figure we show before you sign is an estimate built from county appraisal records, comparable properties, and your homestead cap, where applicable. It is not a guarantee. The appraisal district makes the final determination on your protest, and the actual result may be higher, lower, or unchanged.

What you’re appointing us to do

Signing 50-162 (Rev. 4-24/12) appoints Quant Labs as your agent for property tax matters under Texas Tax Code §1.111. We file your protest, submit evidence, and represent you at the informal meeting and, if needed, the appraisal review board hearing, by video, on your behalf.

Under Tax Code §41.43, the appraisal review board cannot set your value higher than the one on your notice as a result of a protest. The worst outcome of filing is that nothing changes.

Fees

Our fee is 25% of the realized reduction in your first year’s property tax bill. If your protest does not reduce your tax bill, you owe nothing. We invoice only after the appraisal district or review board has finalized the new value, and you can review the invoice’s calculation before paying it.

Deadlines are yours to meet

Texas sets a hard filing deadline — May 15, or 30 days after your notice was mailed, whichever is later — and there is no late protest. We will file on your behalf once you’ve signed, but we can only act on the information and timing you give us. We are not responsible for a missed deadline caused by a signature we did not receive in time.

Accuracy of information you provide

You are responsible for the accuracy of the property address, ownership, and contact details you give us. Filing against the wrong parcel, or an address the district rejects, may delay or prevent your protest.

Cancellation

You may withdraw your authorization at any time before a hearing is decided by contacting us. If we have already filed on your behalf, withdrawing after the protest is submitted may not be possible to undo with the district, depending on its own rules and deadlines.

No legal or tax advice

Quant Labs is a property tax consulting service, not a law firm or a CPA practice. Nothing on this site or in our communications is legal or tax advice. Results vary by property, county, and the evidence available.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees you actually paid us for the engagement giving rise to the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as our services or Texas law change. We will post the revised date at the top of this page; continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the update.
